Who We Are

Our Story
Dan’s Pierogies got our start in 1998 by jumping head-first into Whiting’s Pierogi Fest. At the time, we had no storefront, so we decided to open ourselves up with a 10×10 tent to see how we would be received by the community at a world-renowned festival, known to make or break a business.
With a few successful years, we were able to open our first location which shared the parking lot with white castles on Indianapolis Blvd in Whiting. Within a few years, we outgrew that location and moved to the location known as Condes’s located just around the block on 119th street in Whiting. After selling this location, we picked up and moved to Schererville in 2005. Our location was in the middle of Lincoln Plaza on U.S. 30. We made it through the holiday season of 2007 before closing to focus on family and bettering our business for the future. People soon began asking for our delicious polish cuisine, therefore we started back up small. We decided to give the food truck industry a try. Since then we have been traveling with our food trailers doing various summer and fall festivals for over 20 years now. In 2015 we decided it was time and way overdue to re-open a storefront. Therefore, we decided on a great location in Highland, IN, where we are now currently located. We have been voted best of the region polish cuisine since we opened back at this location. We truly appreciate each and every one of our customers! As always, you can catch us every year at Pierogi Fest!
